Ramdas Baliga has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Toshiba Software India, succeeding Takashi Ishikawa, who served in the position for four years. Ishikawa, in his farewell statement, expressed satisfaction with his tenure and highlighted the successful transition from an Offshore Development Centre (ODC) to a Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the slogan “Across & Beyond.” He expressed confidence in Baliga’s leadership, emphasizing his diverse experience in various technology domains and predicting that Baliga will elevate Toshiba Software India Pvt. Ltd. (TSIP) to greater heights.
In response to his appointment, Baliga articulated his vision for TSIP, positioning it as a crucial element in Toshiba Group’s global digital and software transformation. He aims to foster digital agility both within and beyond Toshiba, evolving TSIP into a Digitally Agile Centre of Excellence. Baliga emphasized TSIP’s alignment with Toshiba’s goal of applying digital technologies to physical systems, reinforcing Toshiba’s leadership in Cyber Physical Systems. Grounded in the group’s commitment to “Committed to People, Committed to the Future,” TSIP, under Baliga’s leadership, will continue its expertise in diverse high-technology domains such as energy and infrastructure systems, smart card systems, automotive, medical systems, and more.
Baliga, who has been with TSIP since 2003, brings over 18 years of experience to his new role. Throughout his tenure, he has held various leadership positions, contributing significantly to the design and development of IT technologies and solutions for Toshiba Group companies in India and overseas. Baliga is committed to building a strong team of engineers focused on advancing expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, IoT Cloud technologies, and other cutting-edge fields.
